About Us
Who We Are
SAGA Ski Club is a 501(c)7 non-profit, all volunteer-run organization that was one of the first gay-centered sports organizations in the United States.
SAGA Ski (and Snowboard) Club was organized in 1975 by a transplanted group of gay skiers from Utah that missed the fun of skiing now that they were in Southern California. From the first days of the club, members included a mix of guys from LA, Orange County, and Long Beach. For over 30 years the club has organized from 6 to 10 ski and snowboard trips each season to a variety of resorts in the western US, Canada, and Europe for its 150—200 members. Ski season destinations will include Mammoth, Aspen, Tahoe, and Utah. Current trips can be found on the Trips page.
Our most popular trips are the Mammoth bus trips, complete with meals, cocktails and films en route and group meals in the condos. We also offer “caravan” trips to Mammoth, where we leave the driving to you. As a non-profit organization, our ski and snowboard trips are reasonably priced and tailored to the desires and preferences of our members.
The Club holds meetings from October through May in Los Angeles, WeHo, and Long Beach. The fun meetings offer an opportunity to sign up for ski and snowboard trips, and to socialize with other members. This is a great way for guys to check the club out, meet other guys going on the same trips, and to make new friends. Meeting dates, times, and locations for Vertigo club meetings can be found on the Vertigo Monthly Meeting page.
Although SAGA is primarily for skiing and boarding, we also host parties, camping trips, theater events and more. We regularly schedule camping trips in June and September, pool parties in July and September, and Hollywood Bowl events in August.
You can find the most up-to-date information here on our website about our ski and snowboard trips, camping trips, and other events during the season.

SAGA Ski Club is an all-volunteer effort, and run by a dedicated group of members who are elected by the membership each year. The officers are President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Mammoth Trip Planning, Out of State Trip Planning, Marketing, Membership, Communications, Social, and Technology. Our non-profit status helps to keep our trip prices and membership dues affordable as well as fun. To find out more about the club’s offiicers, check out the SAGA LA Board page.
